The school counselors at SunRidge Middle School provide services to students, parents, school staff and the community in the following areas:
- School Counseling Core Curriculum - the curriculum consists of structured lessons designed to help students attain the knowledge, attitudes and skills appropriate for their developmental level. This includes lessons from Monique Burr's Teen Safety Matters Prevention Education Program.
- Individual Student Planning - school counselors coordinate on-going systemic activities designed to assist students set personal goals and future plans. This includes lessons on Social and Emotional Learning.
- Responsive Services - are designed to meet students' immediate needs and concerns. This includes counseling in individual or small group settings.
- Indirect Student Services - this includes referrals for additional services and consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers, or other educators.
All of the services outlined above are aligned with the American School Counselor Association's National Delivery Model.

Modified Schedule/Early Release Request
This is the form to be completed to be considered for a Modified Schedule/Early Release. Your request must be turned in online by the due date with all supporting documentation. Please note that this form is only for first semester request (August-December). This form will open back up for semester two in December. The form must be completed in its entirety. Incomplete submissions or missing documentation will not be approved. This form only allows for one submission. Submission of this form does not guarantee approval.
Below are the minimum requirements for a Modified Schedule in addition to supporting documentation:
- Students have and maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.0
- Less than 4 unexcused absences
- No Level 3 or 4 Referrals
